Adams Leclair Adds Spirit Smith-Matos, Future Law Student, to Firm
August 26, 2024
Future law school student Spirit Smith-Matos has assumed administrative assistant duties in Adams Leclair’s front office. In addition to welcoming clients and visitors, she will assist the staff and paralegals in their daily tasks.
“Having a future law student in this role will not only help our legal assistants but give Spirit a chance to see how construction law and business litigation is conducted,” explained Carin Cole, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are very open to having our employees experience different aspects of the work we do.”
Spirit Smith-Matos decided to move to Rochester after completing her undergrad studies at CUNY Bernard M Baruch College in May.
“As I prepare for law school in the fall of 2025, I am looking to explore as many legal avenues as possible to help assist me in choosing what law I would like to practice,” said the New York City native.
Spirit enjoys exploring Rochester’s music scene and sampling pizza slices at restaurants that are new to her. She says she still has plenty of museums to visit and trails to hike when she’s not working.
“What attracted me most to Adams Leclair was the opportunity to learn from experienced attorneys and staff. I am looking forward to gaining more technical skills and hands on experience.”
