July 29, 2024
Adams Leclair LLP received a Champion for Diversity Award from the Honorable Roy W. King Legal Diversity Internship program during a presentation at Rochester City Hall on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The ceremony started with Mayor Malik Evans making brief remarks to compliment the program and he called for continued diversification of the legal community.
This is the first year Champion of Diversity awards have been presented to those who have consistently supported the program and its efforts to diversify the bar of Monroe County. Attorneys with Adams Leclair have volunteered on the selection committee for several years and the firm accepts applicants as summer clerks at the Rochester office.
Ella Humphrey of Pittsford, a 2022 participant in the program, was hired as an associate upon her graduation from the University at Buffalo School of Law this past May.
“We strive to make our firm a great representation of our community and are always seeking exceptional law students who want to be part of our mission,” stated Steven Cole, Managing Partner. “We are honored to be among the firms receiving this prestigious recognition.”
The Hon. Roy W. King Legal Diversity Internship program is in its 19th year and is co-sponsored by the Monroe County Bar Association (MCBA), the Rochester Black Bar Association (RBBA), and the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA).
Other Champion of Diversity awardees include: Monroe County Law Department, Harris Beach, Law Offices of Pullano & Farrow, Nixon Peabody, Legal Assistance of Western NY, Woods Oviatt Gilman, US District Court of Western NY, and Michael Wolford who was instrumental in starting the program in 2004.
