New Challenge for “Adams Leclair Advocates”: Team of Six to Rappel Down Kodak Tower and Support Scouting
May 6, 2024
Six attorneys and staff members of the Adams Leclair law firm will take up a new challenge on Friday, May 17, 2024. The challenge won’t come from inside a courtroom. Instead, it will involve team members rappelling 21 stories down the outside of the iconic Kodak Tower in downtown Rochester.
“It is such a unique opportunity that I am excited to be a part of. Not only do we get to support a great cause, but how many people get to say they rappelled down a skyscraper?” said attorney Ryan Lefkowitz.
The five women and one man have aptly named their team the “Adams Leclair Advocates.” Their mission is to raise funds for the Seneca Waterways Council which in turn will help expand scouting programs for youth in underserved, typically urban neighborhoods.
“As a former scout, I believe in the leadership and teamwork skills that scouting programs provide,” reflected Carin Cole, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Cole proposed forming a team a few months ago to encourage younger attorneys and staff to get involved.
“Our law firm has always supported charities in this community, but this event sounded like a perfect opportunity to get personally involved.”
Each team member will gear up in protective equipment and rappel 240 feet to the base of the building.
“I hope the whole law firm will be cheering us on from the ground,” shared paralegal Sara Rule. “It will be fun to get out from behind our desks and support a great cause!”
In addition to Rule, Cole, and Lefkowitz, the other team members include former summer associate, Jack Cassidy; and attorneys Kelly Geary and Lauren Maddox. All participants are encouraged to collect at least $1,100 to support the overall goal of $100,000 for the 21 Stories for Scouts event. The Seneca Waterways Council of the Boy Scouts of America serves nearly 6,000 young people in Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Seneca and Yates Counties.
