Adams Leclair Welcomes New Associate Aasiyah Ali

Adams Leclair LLP continues to expand its firm with the addition of a new associate, Aasiyah Ali. The Manhattan native is ready to focus her career on commercial litigation after serving as an appellate court attorney for the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division.
“During my time in the 4th Department, I loved getting contract disputes, summary judgment motions on commercial disputes, and basically any cases that would deal with the minutia of the facts and law,” reflected Aasiyah. “To me, it’s almost like a puzzle to try to figure out possible arguments and workarounds to the civil issues.”
Aasiyah took on some interesting internships prior to studying at Brooklyn Law School. She was a technical associate for the non-profit organization, Girls Who Code, managing cloud-based IT systems and was an investigator for The Bronx Defenders. She gathered time-sensitive video surveillance, took photographs, and diagrammed crime scenes as well as served subpoenas, orders to show cause, and other legal documents to individuals and corporations.
“I’ve enjoyed my exposure to so many facets of the law, but when I was looking for a firm, I gravitated to those offering flexibility. At Adams Leclair, associates are not only allowed but encouraged to try out different types of cases. I really appreciate the freedom to discover what I am passionate about,” explained Aasiyah.
As a self-declared foodie and pescatarian, Aasiyah is having fun exploring the Rochester food scene. She enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes she finds on Pinterest. She also loves traveling and plans trip out of the country at least once a year.
