Ella Humphrey, Adams Leclair’s 2022 summer clerk, will continue to provide research and litigation support to the firm as she enters the spring semester of her second year as a law student at the University at Buffalo School of Law.

“I enjoy learning from the attorneys at Adams Leclair, each of whom is an expert in their niche of the legal field,” said Humphrey.  “By researching different issues and topics, I am retaining useful information about business, employment, property, construction, and probate disputes, as well as civil procedure in New York state and federal courts.”

The semester will be a busy time for Humphrey who is a Pittsford native, graduate of Pittsford Mendon High School, and recent participant in the Honorable Roy W. King Diversity Clerkship Program administered through the Monroe County Bar Association, Rochester Black Bar Association and Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys GRAWA.

Later this spring, Ella Humphrey will leave Buffalo and travel to New York City as part of UB Law’s Program in Finance and Law. Students will engage with corporate finance experts and create substantive projects in a Manhattan classroom, then participate in an externship with a legal, finance, or government organization. The program’s innovative curriculum is built around core practice areas related to corporate finance, capital markets, financial services, regulation, and the emerging field of compliance.

“It’s exciting that Ella can add real-world experience to her emerging resume which includes a real estate license and two years in direct-to-customer marketing,” said founding partner, Paul Leclair.  “As commercial litigators, we encourage our law clerks to pursue opportunities that will help them become exceptional attorneys.  UB’s externship will provide that for Ella, who is a very promising law student.”
