Location: Rochester, NY

Outstanding opportunity with a top-rated upstate New York litigation law firm. Adams Leclair LLP provides representation to clients in construction law and litigation, commercial litigation, employment, municipal, real property tax, and trusts and estates litigation.  We are looking for candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment that provides effective and responsive client representation. 

The ideal candidate is a currently enrolled 2L, with strong academic credentials and demonstrated writing and research skills. 

Adams Leclair provides Summer Associates with mentorship and the opportunity to build practice skills to succeed as a first-year associate. As a Summer Associate at Adams Leclair, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn to draft pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, and orders;
  • Work closely with partners and associates;
  • Attend court conferences, depositions, motion hearings, and mediations; and
  • Learn to use eDiscovery and case management software.

Requirements

  • Requires you to be currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
  • Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
  • Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and research tools.

Salary range $32 – $35/hour
