Adams Leclair LLP is thrilled to welcome Mary Kate Tramontano back to the firm as a law clerk, following her graduation from Syracuse University College of Law and a successful summer clerkship with the firm in 2025.

During Mary Kate’s final academic year, she served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Anthony Brindisi in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York (Utica) in the fall, followed by a spring internship with the United States Attorneys’ Office for the Northern District of New York in Syracuse.  She also competed in the National Moot Court Competition as part of an appellate advocacy team that finished as regional semi-finalists.

Prior to law school, Mary Kate did her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she earned a B.S. in Public Relations alongside a B.A. in Policy Studies from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 2022.

“The greatest lesson Newhouse teaches its students is how to be effective storytellers,” she noted. “As a lawyer, I hope to apply that skill by helping clients tell their stories, advocating for their interests, and supporting them through complex legal challenges.”

Having recently re-located to Webster, Mary Kate plans to focus her practice on commercial litigation and employment law. Her familiarity with the firm’s attorneys and staff, the quality of their legal work, plus the collaborative culture made her excited to return to Adams Leclair.

“During my summer clerkship, I gained invaluable experience and learned a tremendous amount from the attorneys I worked with,” Mary Kate said. “I look forward to continuing to develop my skills, deepen my knowledge, and grow as an attorney as I begin my career as an associate.” 

Originally from Brooklyn, Mary Kate grew up under the mentorship of her mother, an attorney who earned her law degree while working full-time and attending evening classes while raising a family. “Having now completed law school and begun my own legal career, I have an even greater appreciation for her dedication, perseverance, and the hard work that made her success possible,” Mary Kate reflected.
