Ontario County property owner wins tax case with the expertise of Mary Jo Korona and Robert Yawman

After 12 years of litigation that included motions to dismiss the case, an appeal and a 3 day bench trial, Mary Jo Korona and Robert Yawman successfully obtained a judgment against Ontario County on behalf of a widow. State Supreme Court Justice John J. Ark determined that Ontario County failed to comply with the notice requirements of the Real Property Tax Law and that the foreclosure proceeding was legally invalid because the County commenced the foreclosure action against a deceased party.
