Three veteran litigators from Adams Leclair LLP have been recognized for appearing as pro bono counsel in the United States District Court Western District of New York. Steven E. Cole, Paul L. Leclair, and Stacey E. Trien are among 86 attorneys who provided services in civil matters to pro se litigants during the past year.
In a memo extending appreciation, Chief Judge Elizabeth Wolford wrote, “The selfless commitment and dedication that pro bono service requires is laudable.” She went on to say, “the use of pro bono counsel facilitates equal access to justice for civil litigants, permits the Court to address cases more effectively, and often provides valuable federal court experience to attorneys.”
Adams Leclair regularly provides pro bono services through the Western District of New York and its attorneys continue to lead with integrity, skill and a commitment to excellence in advocacy across upstate New York.
Steven Cole was appointed to conduct discovery and motion practice for a former prison inmate who had filed a civil rights lawsuit based on alleged use of excessive force. Paul Leclair provided electronic discovery representation to an inmate involved in several civil lawsuits. Stacey Trien is representing an inmate in connection with a discovery dispute in a civil lawsuit.
